It was a hell of a night.... So satisfying and delicious... I was reading about this place for a long time and getting ready for it but this was beyond my expectations or imagination. Whisky Cafe L&B in Amsterdam owned by whisky enthusiast Leon Elshoff is definitely the best whisky bar all around the world I have been in. The bar is located near Leidseplein and has around 1500 bottles of whisky in the inventory. The prices are moderate of course if you don't go near the very rare vintage bottles, the bartender is extremely fun and friendly to chat and helpful with your choices and the set-up of the bar is unbelievably cool. I felt so good there. It is dimly lit and bottles are literally everywhere, above the bar in the racks, in old small locked cabinets all around the room, on the shelves attached to the walls, behind the counter, etc. They open at 8PM and stay open very late at night but it is a good idea to be there right after they open before the Amsterdam crowd storms in to be able to find some quite time to leaf through their pretty big binder. I cannot wait to go back there again. This time I definitely will have a special budget just for Whisky Cafe L&B...
