a perfect lazy afternoon on the waterfront...

It is such a beautiful feeling to wake up to sunlight on your face almost at noon in a chilly Sunday morning in December. It's holiday season. You don't want to get out of your bed but you know that you are missing a gorgeous day outside. You don't want to be part of a very tiring, long and extremely social plan but you don't want to be trapped inside your apartment in front of your TV set, too.

Here is a recommendation for a short, lazy and very tasty afternoon in Brooklyn, Red Hook. After arriving the neighborhood late afternoon first get a delicious lobster roll from Red Hook Lobster Pound on Van Brunt Street, get the best key lime pie money can buy from Steve's on Pier 41 and then walk towards to waterfront. Find a bench near the Waterfront Museum where you can see the Statue of Liberty and Verrazano Bridge at the same time. Sun will go down over Staten Island right between them very soon... Enjoy your feast slowly in front of the amazing view.

It starts to get pretty cold after the sun goes down. Don't forget to stop by at dry dock wine + spirits to choose a delicious wine from their small but well chosen collection before you head back home. Next time try to be a little earlier to take the Sixpoint Brewery tour...
