ales of Scotland...

Happy new year everybody..! I know it's late but I had a busy month. I was working long hours and didn't have time to spend on my blog. Anyway generally 2010 has been a good year. A lot of traveling, great food, great shows all around the world, wonderful time spent with friends. I hope 2011 will be much better... I am looking forward to travel and taste more this year.

I realized that I didn't talk too much about beer here. Actually I love beer and when I travel I love to try local beer brands. They give you a pretty good entry level information about the local taste. Great way to start to blend in local scene...

This year I was lucky to taste a lot of amazing Scottish Ales during the time I spent in Edinburgh and Orkney and here is my top five amongst them:

1. "Dark Island" by Sinclair Breweries in Orkney Islands

2. "Innis & Gunn Rum Cask Finished Oak Aged Beer" by Innis & Gunn Brewery in Edinburgh

3. "Scapa Special" by The Highland Brewing Company in Orkney Islands

4. "Caledonian 80/." by Caledonian Brewery in Edinburgh

5. "Belhaven Best" by Belhaven Brewery in Dunbar
