I recently watched the short footages I took on Islay in November of 2009 using a crappy camera I borrowed from a friend. I remember like yesterday how upset I was with the results. The quality of the image and the sound I ended up with was pretty much useless for anything I was planning to do and therefore I ignored them totally since then. I neither did edit, nor touch up the files. But now watching the takes again after almost two years they looked so beautifully raw to me. It was so nice to watch my week on Islay day by day...
This one is shot on Kilnaughton Beach on my way back from the Mull of Oa on a beautiful Sunday morning. It was a long hike all the way to the American Monument and back to Port Ellen. You can see Carraig Fhada lighthouse, Kilnaughton graveyard and old Port Ellen distillery warehouses. Apologies again for the quality of the image... To be honest there are some more of these footages and I think I want to post a few of them in coming weeks.
